About Rhodia Thai Industries Ltd
Rhodia Thai Industries Ltd. was started in 1985 as Monsanto Chemical (Thailand), to manufacture acetylsalicylic acid. The plant was acquired by the Rhône-Poulenc group in 1989. In 1994, a new surfactant plant was commissioned and in 1998, its name was changed to Rhodia Thai Industries.
Altogether, 60 employees are engaged in the production of analgesics and surfactants at the plant located in Bangpoo Industrial Estate.
As one of the newest bulk acetylsalicylic acid production facilities in the world, the plant utilizes state-of-the-art design and process know-how. The Rhodineâ aspirin is sold locally and 90% is exported around the world to more than 35 countries.
The surfactants are used in cosmetics and personal care, household, institutional and industrial cleaners, emulsion polymerization and textile performance chemicals.
About the Audit
The audit on Rhodia Thai Industries Limited was performed on 10 - 11 November 2008. The Report is 39 pages long, excluding appendices. Including appendices the Report is 63 pages long.
The Audit Report provides information on the site facilities and covers a wide range of materials, including; Acetylsalicylic Acid and Acetylsalicylic Acid/Starch Granules, (Aspirin and Aspirin starch).
